An overview of my problem
What is the problem?
In many developing countries, earthquakes are often followed by outbreaks of infectious diseases.
I first became aware of this issue during one of the interviews I conducted for this project—and it made me want to understand why this happens.
SDG 3
My topic connects with Sustainable Development Goal 3, to "ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages".
Significant challenges exist in achieving global health goals. Problems such as maternal mortality, premature deaths, and access to essential healthcare persist, exacerbated by the climate crisis.
SDG 6
My topic connects with Sustainable Development Goal 6, to "Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all".
Good water and sanitation underpin poverty reduction, economic growth, and environmental sustainability. Today, however, 2.2 billion people lack access to safely managed drinking water, and more than 4.2 billion people lack safely managed sanitation. Climate change exacerbate the situation.
